Organizations
23 Preservation Foundation Contact Ralph J. Knobel at 402-446-7394. Meetings are the 4th Thursday at 7:30pm. 23' building 7th & J Street. The organization was formed in February, 1996 to prevent demolition of the former High School Building constructed in 1923 and used until 1989. The organization has completely restored the building and it contains beautifully renovated apartments. The Foundation has established a close relationship with alumni and has developed an alumni room with High School Memorabilia. Anyone interested in preserving this building is welcome.

American Legion Auxiliary #24 Contact Al Reynolds at 729-2815. Meetings are on the first Monday of the month at the American Legion Hall at 300 5th Street. No meeting in July or August. The organization is the women of all Veterans from all branches of service, mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, ect. All are welcome. It is an organization designed to help Veterans and their families in need.

The Boy Scouts of America are members of the Cornhusker Council of Lincoln. The ages of the boys in the troop range from 11-18 years of age. They will help with projects in Fairbury if requested.

There are 12 clubs in the county spread out in Fairbury, Daykin, Plymouth, Diller and the surrounding areas. There are additional independent social clubs in the county. The lessons for the meetings are decided by the Extension Office and from ones they come up with on their own. New members interested in learning and socializing are welcome.

Mother to Mother is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping families with the day to day stresses of life and responsibilities of parenting. The purpose of Mother to Mother is to provide opportunities for people to build friendships and share experiences as parents.

Rock Creek Quilters Contact Arlene Engels at 729-6566. Meetings are the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm at Union Bank Community Room 1313 K Street. (no meeting in June or December). Twice a year, there is a day long workshop. A quilt show and miniature quilt auction on opposite years as fundraisers. Also, have beginning quilting classes when interest is expressed.
